A Sunday

28/01/07 – Sunday

Up fairly early and pottered about the flat reading papers and typing up blog things as per a usual lazy Sunday morning. Then hit the pool for a swim – swam one kilometre I’ll have you know! So now I am knackered.

Then got some breakfast together and headed off to IKEA (again) hopefully for one last excursion. It was a Sunday living nightmare. Lots of kids attacking each other, people meandering (so irritating when you know what you want to get!) and then the usual domestic bliss on show. Managed to get what we need and then got out of there sharpish! The whole thing took over 3 hours! What a waste of an afternoon.

When I got back to the flat, we decided to head up to our local area (Crow’s Nest) to get a wee drinky poo to complete our perfect Sunday afternoon. Tried out some Aussie white wines – need to get down with the locals and learn about my wines. White wine can be very risky and you don’t want to get that wrong!! Big recipe for some nasty hangovers. Went to a really nice bar called the Stoned Crow with windows wide open and Zain and I basked in the late afternoon sunshine. Today the weather actually felt like a sunny day in Glasgow; had the same kind of feel to it, with some freshness in the air (the constant threat of rain perhaps!).

Got some takeaway Indian for bargain price (takeaway/restaurant food is really well priced) and headed home to get ready for the tennis – Men’s final!!! Fingers crossed for Fernando Gonzalez, but not sure what the score will be – Gonzalez is just too cute to lose!

On the takeaway note, when Zain and I moved into the unit, the oven had never been used – ever! I think the building is probably about 10 years old max and it’s not that the previous owners have had a good cleaner, there were things installed incorrectly in the oven. Can you imagine!?

Observations:

Australian owned: They are so big on this out here. Everything that can be is branded with the Australian made logo and they are all terribly proud of it.

Womens gym: There is a women only gym in the Chatswood area, near our local mall, which has the slogan ‘ No Toms, no Harrys and definitely no Dicks’. You have to love this country just for that!
