First day on the job
25/01/07 - Thursday
First day on the job today. Up early, went for a swim to clear my head, and then headed into town to get some planning done for my first lesson. Lesson went ok; bit like riding a bike, you don't forget all the things you need to remember when teaching a class, including telling a 16 year old boy to stop looking at magazines of ladies in bikinis! Naughty! (Discipline is always the best bit...now where is my cane...)
Going to spend the rest of my night drinking beer to recover from the day and think about what to get up to tomorrow. Tomorrow is Australia Day, which is a public holiday here, where we all gaily celebrate the landing of Captain Cook in Sydney Harbour, and therefore releasing the countries potential! Hooray! I am going to go tourist-tastic and do loads of free stuff that is on offer and catch all the lovely, pretty fireworks. A long weekend, just what I need, and I've only worked 1 day here!

Remember the countdown as well, it's amazing how scared kids are of
5.... 4.... 3.... 2....
they never know how crazy you're going to be after you hit 1.
Lookis like the TEFL course will be money well spent then, you've convinced me.
